At least 18 people died and more than forty were injured on Thursday after two attacks in Colombia attributed to different dissident factions of the former FARC guerrilla group, authorities reported.

Deadly bomb and drone attacks in two different regions of Colombia were being linked to the government's war on narcotrafficking by former FARC rebels.

Colombia has been rocked by one of its deadliest coordinated attacks in recent years, leaving at least 17 people dead. Authorities say dissidents of the defunct FARC rebels launched two brutal strikes: a car bomb outside a military aviation school in Cali and a drone attack on a police helicopter in Antioquia.
