Conroe ISD Superintendent Curtis Null withdrew his recommendation Tuesday to end the district's Two-Way Immersion Dual Language program.

CONROE, Texas — Board members with the Conroe Independent School District were set to vote on a measure that would end the district's dual language program, but after passionate testimony from students and community members, the vote was withdrawn by Curtis Null.

After reading the upcoming school board meeting agenda, community members involved in Conroe ISD's dual language program found out that the program may end.

Conroe ISD has withdrawn the recommendation to discontinue the dual language program for the 2025-26 school year after hearing almost two and a half hours of public comment from around 80 parents and students at the Feb.

Conroe ISD Superintendent Curtis Null proposed discontinuing the program because of a budget deficit, and also because of staffing shortages and a decline in enrollment in the program, but tabled that plan after pushback from community members.
