Liverpool have fully agreed a record-breaking fee with Eintracht Frankfurt for striker Hugo Ekitike, who is set to undergo a medical soon.

Liverpool have made an offer of £69 million for Frankfurt striker Hugo Ekitike according to Sky Sports.They report that the deal could rise to £78 million with add ons but talks are still ongoing

The battle for Hugo Ekitike is already a complicated one. There has been interest in the Frenchman all summer but Newcastle United were the first club to try and take things up a level, tabling a £69.3million offer earlier this week which was rejected by Eintracht Frankfurt.

Confidence is growing Newcastle can wrap up the signing of Hugo Ekitike after club officials were dispatched to Frankfurt to finalise the transfer.

Newcastle submitted an initial £69.5million bid for Ekitike which represents a club-record fee. The Magpies’ current record transfer is the £63million paid to Real Sociedad for Alexander Isak in 2022 but it appears they are willing to break it to land Ekitike.
