The Cosby Show star Malcolm-Jamal Warner has died of accidental drowning at the age of 54, TMZ reports. TMZ cites an “an unconfirmed, though reliable source” for its report on the cause of the shock death.

Fans took quickly to social media on Monday as news of Warner's accidental drowning in Costa Rica spread.

He was swimming at Playa Cocles in Limon province when a current pulled him deeper into the ocean.
