American Airlines flight 357 made a diversion and landed at the Washington Dulles International Airport on Sunday after reports of a fire and smoke on board from a passenger carrying a mysterious device.

Flight 357 landed safely in Virigina after a fire and smoke were seen within the passenger rows of the Airbus cabin.

A Phoenix-bound American Airlines jet that left Philadelphia more than an hour behind schedule Saturday was diverted to Washington Dulles International Airport after the crew reported “a fire” in one of the passenger rows, the Federal Aviation Administration said.
