San Francisco Police Chief Bill Scott is leaving the city after leading the department for eight years.This afternoon it was announced that he will become the new police chief for the Los Angeles Metropolitan Transit Authority.

William “Bill” Scott, San Francisco police chief, was named the Los Angeles County transit agency’s top cop in a surprise announcement made at LA Metro’s security operations headquarters in downtown Los Angeles.
