Early indications from the Modi-Trump talks are positive from the market perspective, said V K Vijayakumar, Chief Investment Strategist at Geojit Financial Services.

The trends on Gift Nifty indicate a mildly positive start for the Indian benchmark index. The Gift Nifty was trading around 23,135 level, a premium of nearly 12 points from the Nifty futures’ previous close.

The 30-share BSE benchmark Sensex fell 199.76 points or 0.26 per cent in a volatile to close at 75,939.21. The NSE Nifty went down by 102.15 points or 0.44 per cent to close at 22929.25.
