Severe wet weather in South Korea eased on Monday following days of torrential rain that triggered floods and landslides and left at least 18 people dead, the Ministry of the Interior and Safety said on Monday.

Nearly twenty inches of rain have fallen since Wednesday in parts of the South Chungcheong province. Tourists, business travelers, and international students will be required to fork over the new fee.

Thousands of people were evacuated and some airlifted by helicopter, as a torrential storm tore through buildings in the nation’s southern and western provinces.
