MACON, Ga. — The 13WMAZ Weather Team remains in a Weather Impact Alert through Monday morning as a system continues to bring a wintry mix to certain portions of the area. This could result in ice accumulations throughout the rest of Sunday morning, with a potential for refreezing as we head into Monday morning.
Monday morning: Dry with ice on the roads due to re-freezing of Sunday’s rain. Wind chills will be in the single digits for most of north Georgia. A cold weather advisory is in effect from 4 AM until 10 AM for wind chills 0 - 15 degrees.

Winter weather road conditions threat prompts Georgia DOT to treat critical routes
Augusta, Ga. (WJBF) – According to the Georgia Department of Transportation, crews are preparing to resume brine operations in District 2 (east-central Georgia) on Sunday night. Georgia DOT began monitoring weather that may be a problem for roadways as of Sunday afternoon.
A winter storm watch has been issued for parts of north Georgia.
Georgia is expecting more brutal cold this weekend. Whether we’ll see snow is still in question, but forecasts point to icy conditions gripping much of the state.
