Apple’s decision this week to build a massive facility in Houston for making AI servers could mark a resurrection of the region's tech past that began with Texas Instruments in the 1970s, continued with Compaq Computer Corp.

Apple has unveiled its largest-ever investment commitment in the U.S., pledging more than $500 billion over the next four years and creating 20,000 new jobs nationwide.

Apple said it will work with partners to open a 250,000-square-foot AI server manufacturing facility in Houston.
