Center for Disease Control are being let go by the Trump administration, threatening public health and science.

The Trump administration is laying off 1,300 employees at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, shrinking the public health agency as part of an effort to cut costs across the federal government.

WASHINGTON — The Trump administration is set to eliminate thousands of federal health care jobs Friday, targeting employees across public health and science agencies who were hired in the past one to two years.

A federal judge paused cuts that the Trump administration had made to funding for public health research, but Monday’s temporary restraining order will apply only in the 22 Democratic-led states that brought a lawsuit challenging the reduction in funding.

Several federal agencies are being ordered to restore web pages and reports that were either removed or modified following one of President Trump's executive orders.
