The avalanche, which engulfed the BRO camp situated between Mana and Badrinath, struck early on Friday morning. Several rescue teams braved the rugged terrain, deep snow, and freezing temperatures to reach the trapped workers.

Out of the 57 labourers from the Border Roads Organisation (BRO) who were trapped under an avalanche near the border village of Mana in Uttarakhand's Chamoli district on Friday, 32 have been rescued so far,

Mana Pass area is around 52 km north of Badrinath Dham and over 310km from Dehradun. 50 workers have been rescued by the team, whereas the search operation is underway to evacuate th remaining 8 workers.

Uttarakhand Avalanche Updates: 57 road construction workers were stationed in the BRO camp at the time of the incident, informed Deepam Seth, Uttarakhand's Director General of Police, while speaking to NDTV.
