After joining college hockey at the Division-1 level a little over a decade ago, Penn State has made the Frozen Four for the first time. After starting the season with an 0-8 record in Big Ten play, Penn State won 11 of their final 13 games to earn the final “at-large” bid into the NCAA Tournament.

Western Michigan footed the bill for 100 student tickets to Thursday's Frozen Four, the program's first appearance at college hockey's championship.

For the sixth time in nine years, the University of Denver Pioneers hockey team will play in the Frozen Four, facing NCHC foe Western Michigan in St. Louis with a trip to the national title game on the line.
