Banjo on coaching fast track as he's only been an assistant for two years. But new Jets head coach Aaron Glenn previously coached Banjo the player for three years.

Jets new coach Aaron Glenn has taken notice. Broncos assistant Chris Banjo is viewed as the favorite to land the Jets special teams coordinator position, per a source.

David Shaw found a new home Thursday, finishing up a multi-year contract to join the Lions as their passing game coordinator, a source confirmed.

Aaron Glenn is starting to fill out his coaching staff and is bringing Steve Heiden from Detroit to be the Jets' offensive line coach, according to a report from NFL Media's Tom Pelissero. Heiden, 48, has 12 years of coaching experience in the NFL and spent the past two seasons with the Lions as a tight ends coach.

A source said Wednesday the Jets are hiring Denver assistant special teams coach Chris Banjo as their special teams coordinator. That follows the Jets last Saturday naming Broncos assistant general manager Darren Mougey as general manager.
