Buffalo Sabres right wing Tage Thompson led the way during their 3-2 victory over the Edmonton Oilers on Monday evening. Thompson would open the scoring in the first period as he beat Stuart Skinner with a wrist shot.
Another agonizing loss pushed the Detroit Red Wings further down the Eastern Conference standings. Their losing streak has ballooned to six games, something they'll try to pop when they host the Buffalo Sabres on Wednesday night.
There probably won't be many more difficult losses for the Red Wings this season than the one they endured Monday in Ottawa.
Tage Thompson scored his 32nd and 33rd goals of the season in the win.
