The draw for the ATP 500 Mexican Open Acapulco has been revealed, in a preparatory tournament for the Sunshine Double, as it is played on outdoor hard courts in North America.

The Mexican Open and the resort city seek to tell the world that Acapulco is back, after Hurricane Otis caused devastating damage in 2023.

Top seed Alexander Zverev and fifth seed Ben Shelton were eliminated inside Arena GNP Seguros. Zverev went down to 19-year-old qualifier Learner Tien, 6-3, 6-4, while Shelton was on the receiving end of a 7-6 (3), 6-3 loss to David Goffin.

Casper Ruud was one of three top seeds to exit the Mexican Open on Wednesday due to the effects of a stomach bug, while both Alexander Zverev and Ben Shelton suffered early defeats at the ATP 500 tournament in Acapulco.
