Ja'Marr Chase Over Joe Burrow

Near the end of the season, serious momentum seemed to suggest the Cincinnati Bengals would be able to keep Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins on long-term contracts. Now, a little pushback to the idea has arrived, courtesy of anonymous NFL executives.

Cincinnati's director of player personnel noted he's expecting the two sides can come together to reach a deal.

The 6-foot, 201-pound receiver is set to earn $21.8 million next season. However, he’s aiming to become the NFL’s highest-paid wide receiver, surpassing his former LSU teammate, Justin Jefferson, who currently makes $35 million per year with the Minnesota Vikings.

Chase has one year remaining on his rookie deal in which he is set to earn $21.5 million. He's however targeting the title of the NFL 's highest-paid wide receiver, which would surpass his former LSU teammate, Justin Jefferson, who currently earns $35 million annually with the Minnesota Vikings.

Duke Tobin didn't hide the challenge associated with trying to re-sign both Cincinnati Bengals star receivers this offseason. Along with re-signing triple-crown winner Ja'Marr Chase, the Bengals will also try to re-sign fellow wideout Tee Higgins, who played last year under the franchise tag.

The Cincinnati Bengals were represented by Joe Burrow, Ja'Marr Chase, and Trey Hendrickson at the NFL Pro Bowl Skills Show. One of those players has future with the team settled. The other two are looking for just that this offseason.
