The case before the court challenges a Mississippi law that allows absentee ballots received after Election Day to count if they are postmarked by Election Day.
According to statistics posted by the Division of Elections earlier this month, the Alaska GOP is the largest party in the state, with just over 146,000 members. The Democratic Party is a distant second, at fewer than 73,000 members. The Alaskan Independence Party comes in third, ahead of the fourth-place Libertarian Party, which has 6,319 members.
