Democrats were projected to win a Connecticut state House special election on Tuesday, according to Decision Desk HQ. Democratic candidate Larry Pemberton defeated Republican Brandon Sabbag for Connecticut state House District 139.

Republicans won one but lost another special election Tuesday in what will be received as mixed news for U.S. President Donald Trump.

Candidates include Democrat Larry Pemberton and Republican Brandon Sabbag, plus write-in candidate Mark Adams, who ran for the House seat in the past.

Early results showed Larry Pemberton Jr. assured of election to the 139th House District of Ledyard, Montville and Norwich.
