Police in Germany say one person was killed and others injured when a car rammed into a crowd Monday in southwestern Germany

One person has died and several are injured after a car drove into a crowd of people in the German city of Mannheim on Monday, a police spokesperson said, adding that one suspect had been arrested. The official said it was unclear whether any other suspects were involved.

German authorities say a car-ramming incident in the southwestern city of Mannheim that killed two people Monday was a deliberate attack but it does not appear to have been politically or religiously motivated.
