Carlos Alcaraz made sure Italy’s celebrations did not continue on Sunday as he earned a statement 7-6(5), 6-1 win over world No. 1 and home favorite Jannik Sinner to clinch his first Italian Open title.

The world's best players, Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner fought for the Rome Masters crown at Foro Italico. The Spaniard ousted his great rival 7-6, 6-1 in an hour and 43 minutes, besting the Italian for the fourth straight time.

Carlos Alcaraz is clearly the favorite for the French Open. Top-ranked Jannik Sinner is back from his doping ban though and building himself back up to full strength day by day.
