Marco Asensio, the 29-year-old Paris Saint-Germain midfielder/forward under contract until 2026, has failed to fully establish himself under coach Luis Enrique. He has therefore been loaned to Aston Villa for the second half of the 2024-25 season.

ARSENAL are weighing up a dramatic swoop for Aston Villa star Morgan Rogers. The Gunners were already monitoring Rogers closely as they searched for a new forward to challenge Gabriel Martinelli.

The Atalanta winger has been desperate to leave the club all summer long and after seeing a move to Inter Milan break down, has now set his sights on a Premier League return.

Nottingham Forest are exploring a deal to re-sign Aston Villa right-back Matty Cash. The 28-year-old is among Forest’s options as they look to strengthen the right side of defence. The club have also been pursuing a deal for Manchester City’s Rico Lewis.

Girona are close to signing Alex Moreno from Aston Villa. The 32-year-old has less than a year remaining on his Villa contract and would therefore become a free agent next summer. It is unclear whether the La Liga club will sign Moreno on loan or permanently, but getting his wages off the books is believed to be the most important factor for Villa.
