McLaren F1 star Lando Norris has been hit with a deleted lap verdict shared by the FIA after his British Grand Prix victory at Silverstone. Norris stormed to victory at his home race, claiming his second consecutive race victory to close the gap in the standings to team-mate and championship rival Oscar Piastri to just eight points.

The lead car can dictate the pace of the restart, but Piastri was pinged by race stewards for "suddenly" braking. He received a 10-second time penalty, which he served during a pitstop. As a result, McLaren teammate Lando Norris took the race lead and went on to claim victory in his home Grand Prix.

Max Verstappen has pole position for the British Grand Prix but the reigning Formula 1 champion will have title rivals Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris close behind in Sunday's race. Red Bull's Verstappen had struggled in practice but found extra pace in Saturday's qualifying session to take pole ahead of McLaren's Piastri and Norris,
