The unlikely NFL comeback continues for Darren Waller. The former Raiders star chose to return to the league this fall and signed a $5 million contract with the Miami Dolphins to do so. It hit a speedbump, though, when Waller was injured to start the offseason and was put on the physically unable to perform list.

The Miami Dolphins activated veteran tight end Darren Waller from the physically unable to perform list on Wednesday.

The former Pro Bowl tight end retired following the 2023 season with the New York Giants. However, Waller expressed his desire to return to the gridiron, and the Dolphins acquired the star tight end along with a 2027 conditional seventh-round pick in exchange for the Giants' 2026 sixth-round pick.
