A troop of European leaders will support Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Monday as the American president fueled new alarm among Ukraine's allies after his summit with Vladimir Putin.

NBC’s Kristen Welker played a clip on Sunday’s “Meet the Press” of Rubio criticizing Russian President Vladimir Putin shortly after Russia invaded Ukraine in 2022. Rubio suggested in the clip that the U.S. should not “cut a deal” with Putin, saying that he was a “liar.”

President Trump is set to meet with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and European leaders on Monday as the U.S. pursues a peace agreement between Russia and Ukraine.

“There’s no deal until there is a deal,” Trump told reporters at a press conference in Anchorage, Alaska, following a meeting between Trump, Putin, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, special envoy Steve Witkoff, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and Russian foreign affairs adviser Yuri Ushakov. The summit lasted about two hours and 30 minutes.

Trump met with Putin in Alaska on Friday but walked away without securing any deal over the Ukraine war. The president lashed out at critics of his summit with Putin in a post on Truth Social, suggesting that it was not a “failure” to invite Putin to the United States.
