Season 2 of the John Cena -led series Peacemaker returns to HBO Max tonight, Aug. 21, three years after the first season aired and one cinematic universe reset later.

Peacemaker originally premiered back in 2021 as a spin-off of Suicide Squad, when the comic IP was still being adapted as the DCEU. As such, Season 2 returns under the full direction of Gunn’s new chapter,

Our Call: STREAM IT. Peacemaker continues to be a funny but emotional superhero drama, with a surprisingly effective performance by Cena at its center, with a fun-to-watch ensemble around him. Oh, and the second-season opening credits dance sequence, to “Oh Lord” by Foxy Shazam, is pretty good too.
