The Rafah border crossing between Gaza and Egypt will stay closed 'until further notice,' Israel said Saturday, after the Palestinian Embassy in Egypt said it would reopen Monday.

Israel identifies the remains of one more hostage while 9 Palestinians are killed in Gaza City
Israel says the remains of Eliyahu Margalit, a hostage handed over by Hamas, have been identified. Margalit, 76, was abducted on October 7, 2023, when Hamas attacked Israel.
The handover came after Hamas’ military wing said the remains were that of an “occupation prisoner,” suggesting that they belonged to an Israeli rather than one of the hostages of several other nationalities also taken in Gaza.
Amid the simmering tensions in West Asia, the Gaza media office accused Israel of violating the ceasefire 47 times since Tel Aviv and Hamas agreed to a ceasefire in early October.
