Jalen Brunson had an astounding crossover move on Anthony Black in the Knicks' NBA Cup showdown against the Magic on Saturday night.
Jalen Brunson scored 25 of his season-high 40 points in the first half, Karl-Anthony Towns added 29 points and the New York Knicks advanced to the NBA Cup final with a 132-120 victory over the Orlando Magic on Saturday in Las Vegas.
“And so for me, Jalen is just doing what he gets paid to do,” Brown said. “He’s an MVP candidate in this business, and he’s just showing it again to everybody, and hopefully, you guys and the rest of the world take notice of it.” The competition, however, isn’t some cake walk.
Brunson gets by with elite footwork that is second to none and that Brown compares to Kobe Bryant’s. Brunson’s ability to routinely play off two feet keeps him in control of himself and a defender. It’s the fundamentals that separate him from a lot of the other elite scorers in the NBA.
The San Antonio Spurs and Oklahoma City Thunder meet Saturday, Dec. 13 in a much anticipated NBA Cup semifinal matchup in Las Vegas that is also expected to serve as Wembanyama's return to game action after missing more than a month with a calf strain.
