Closing time for Tom Sawyer Island, Rivers of America at Disney World's Magic Kingdom

Tom Sawyer Island, Liberty Square Riverboat and Rivers of America are closing at Disney World as part of Magic Kingdom's largest expansion to date. The Florida park is getting a whole new area beyond Big Thunder Mountain, including a new Villians land in years to come.

Liberty Square Riverboat & Rivers of America Now Permanently Closed to Make Way for ‘Cars’ at Magic Kingdom

The Liberty Square Riverboat, along with Tom Sawyer Island and the Rivers of America, has closed permanently at the Magic Kingdom. The Liberty Belle took one final journey around the Rivers of America around 8:42 p.m. on Sunday, July 6, 2025. It returned to the dock in Liberty Square around 8:59 p.m. and is now closed permanently.
