Letters to exposed patients should (1) notify patient about the potential exposure, (2) educate patient on how to recognize signs and symptoms of measles, (3) provide information about vaccination, and (4) explain what to do if they have or develop measles symptoms.
Occasionally, Texas residents are exposed to measles in other states, often on airplanes. Typically, those notifications will come from the CDC to the Central Office.
