Lord Carson's state funeral took place on the 26th October 1935, in Belfast, at St Anne's Cathedral. The service, attended by the King's representative and other dignitaries, included a procession through Belfast and was followed by his burial as the only person to be interred within the cathedral. Soil from the six counties of Northern Ireland was scattered over his coffin, which was draped in the Union Flag. Lord Carson is buried in the South Aisle of St Anne's Cathedral in Belfast.
