The BKA's 2024 Police Crime Statistics in Germany indicate that non-Germans accounted for 43% of suspects in violent crimes in the country. Foreigners make up roughly 16% of Germany's population. Syrians, Iraqis, and Afghans are the most overrepresented in violent crime. Per 100,000 inhabitants, the suspect rate for violent crimes is 1,740 for Syrians and 1,722 for Afghans—over 10 times the rate for German nationals (163 per 100,000).
