A former Marshall Independent School District teacher will serve 180 days in jail for having an improper relationship with a 16-year-old student. 25-year-old Margaret Claire Burris pleaded guilty to an improper relationship between an educator and a student. She was sentenced to 180 days in jail and 10 years of probation. Burris began her sentence at the Upshur County Jail on Thursday.
