Since March 2024, our team in St. Croix has been busy! The nursery has grown from 15 to 54 structures, and we’ve already outplanted 963 corals across 4 species. Remember the breaking news we shared a few days ago about outplanted elkhorn coral seen spawning for the first time on Florida's Coral Reef? Well the larvae that was collected from these CRF-outplanted elkhorn coral on North Dry Rocks just started swimming! These larvae are being raised in a joint effort between University of Miami's Rosenstiel School of Marine & Atmospheric Science and NOAA Fisheries Service.
