Choose a cemetery. 2. Use your own phone or borrow one. 3. Prepare headstones to be photographed. 4. Charge your phone and consider bringing a portable charger. 5. Take pictures at a good angle. 6. Photograph the front and back of the tombstone. 7. For larger tombstones, take multiple photos and link them together. 8.

It is truly amazing that we can find the grave sites of our ancestors who first cleared the land on the banks of the Avon River. We visit the grave sites of Greeno, Hill, Harvey to name a few. The West Hants Historical Society has many records of these sites but with each visit we uncover more stones adding to the mysteries that add to our history.
