Alcatraz, we have liftoff! Flight school is in session! After hatching just 40 days ago, two of our Peregrine Falcon fledglings are flying! Learning to fly is scary, and it takes some serious practice to master the aerial acrobatics and speed that peregrine falcons are known for. Our peregrine fledges started out small, with a short flight to the agave stalks that are just outside the nest. These first flights involve lots of flapping and screeching, all under the watchful eye of their parents.
