Recently published by the Naval Institute Press, "The Herndon Climb" (https://tinyurl.com/y2tayu4s) details the history of the United States Naval Academy tradition of Midshipman working as a team to climb a greased 21-foot tall monument to mark the end of their plebe year. It would be interesting if USNA made the climb even more challenging by combining it with Bo-taoshi, a game traditonally played by Japanese cadets at the National Defense Academy. | U.S. Naval Institute
