Hi 👋🏼 everyone! Today, I am discussing PLANA (Pre- surgical Lip Alveolus and Nose Approximation). This device is used to bring the lip segments closer together AND shape the nose BEFORE a baby’s cleft lip and nasal reconstruction. Not all cleft patients require PLANA, but the ones that do, have it in place for approximately 3-4 months leading up to their surgery.
