The mill was incorporated as the Harrington Factory Company Limited and was designed by John Sheldon. It's a large, four-storey brick-built building with a pitched slate roof, featuring 224 cast iron window frames and four semicircular-ended staircase turrets. The factory was initially used for lacemaking and had 26 lacemaking tenants at its peak.
